The U.S. Economic, Business & Political Climate

July 19, 2025 from 10:00am to 11:00am Central Standard Time

In 2015, we cleared important hurdles that were important steps back toward a "normal" economy. However, as the economic expansion moved through its 11th year, it was derailed by a global pandemic beyond that seen in several generations. While the post-pandemic recovery was brisk, the economy faces challenges as it enters its 4th year since the pandemic recession. In this session, Dr. Roger Tutterow provides a timely overview of activity in the national and regional economics including discussion of the role of supply chain disruptions on the construction and retail sectors, the long-term effect of COVID-19 on the real estate industry, the connection between fiscal stimulus, monetary policy, and the recent surge in inflation, policy responses by the Federal Reserve and effects of changes in competitive landscape on profitability and performance on the construction industry.
