This is part 14 of a fifteen video series taught by Brent Anderson, PE, one of the most reputable design and construction engineers in the foundation industry. The course has been made available to members of the Concrete Foundations Association and was most recently captured during Foundations Academy in the winter of 2021.
Finishing the Foundation: Water Control introduces the learner to the importance of controlling water content against foundations. More of a problem in masonry foundations, water pressure or hydrostatic pressure building up around the perimeter will find ways of leaking in at best and will significantly increase the soil pressure above the design condition at worst.
