What are Best Practice Groups? Simply put, they are monthly "lunchtime" conversations with colleagues and peers across the membership network. Subject matter experts are occasionally brought in for a town hall format while other sessions feature groups of 5-7 members in breakout rooms discussing a hot topic or area of interest. Best Practice Groups meet every month on the third Wednesday during the "lunch hour" from noon to 12pm Eastern.  Occasional adjustments to the schedule will be notified by event details, as well as email and text notifications.

EVENT OVERVIEW

We will meet on 6/19/24 at 12pm EST (11:00am Central/10:00am Mountain/9:00am Pacific).  Join CFA Executive Director, James Baty, as he asks the question; "What is your experience with Type IL cements?"  Ahead of CFACON24 in Puerto Rico, this month's Best Practice Group will take up the conversation of what has transpired over the last 2+ years across the country. 
 Slowly, and in many cases silently, markets have been converted by the cement suppliers introducing up to 15% replacement of Type I cement with ground limestone.  An issue largely of sustainability vs workability, Type IL does have different maturity properties and you need to be aware as well as in a position to advise your marketplace.  Where has conversion happened?  Where is it not yet an impact?
